Is it possible to somehow delete the list of old teams accounts on macos? All solutions from internet and microsoft support doesn't work anymore (like clearing cache, keychain etc.).

    Hello Dmitry Sazonov,

Thank you for posting to the Microsoft Q&A. I am sorry to hear that the old Teams accounts are persisting despite your efforts to clear the cache and Keychain.

This usually happens because macOS sandboxes Microsoft apps, meaning the account list is often stored in a shared "Group Container" that survives normal uninstalls and cache clearing.

Since the standard methods have not worked, we need to manually remove the shared identity containers. Please follow these steps to perform a "Deep Clean" of the authentication tokens.

Step 1: The "Group Container" Removal

    1. Quit Teams and all other Microsoft Office apps (Word, Excel, Outlook) completely.
    2. Open Finder.
    3. Press Command + Shift + G to open the "Go to Folder" window.
    4. Paste this path :~/Library/Group Containers/
    5. Locate and move the following folders to the Trash (if they exist).
    • Note: The weird code UBF8T346G9 is Microsoft's developer ID signature.
    • UBF8T346G9.com.microsoft.teams
      • UBF8T346G9.com.microsoft.identity
      • UBF8T346G9.ms
      • UBF8T346G9.Office
    • Do not empty the Trash yet—just in case you need to restore a custom template later, though it is unlikely for these specific folders.

    Step 2: The App-Specific Cache

    1. Press Command + Shift + G again.
    2. For Classic Teams:
      • Go to: ~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/
      • Delete the Teams folder. For New Teams (v2):
      • Go to: ~/Library/Containers/
      • Delete the folders named com.microsoft.teams2 and com.microsoft.teams (if present).

Restart your Mac to ensure all background processes release the old file handles. When you relaunch Teams, it should now prompt you for a fresh sign-in without the legacy account list.

I hope this information helps resolve the issue you are experiencing with your system. Please let me know how these suggestions work for you, or if you'd like assistance in navigating Microsoft's support channels.
