I cannot open any file on MS Word

Question

Whenever i opened any file on MS Word, it kept saying that it had run into an error which prevents it from working correctly. Please help me resolve this problem.

Don't bother with Repair Now, which runs a Quick Repair, which usually doesn't help. Instead, perform a full online repair following the instructions at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/repair-an-office-application-7821d4b6-7c1d-4205-aa0e-a6b40c5bb88b

For an immediate solution to get working again go to;

https://www.office.com/

And sign in to access Office products via a browser.

To address the issue I would recommend restarting your machine to see if that changes anything.

If it persists try the following;

1. Open Settings > Apps > Installed apps
2. Find Microsoft 365 / Office
3. Select Advanced options
4. Choose Repair
5. If that fails, choose Reset (this keeps your files).

If the above fails I would recommend actioning the following;

1. Control Panel → Programs & Features
2. Select Microsoft 365 → Change
3. Choose Online Repair
