My PC keeps playing and pausing music and/or videos randomly, as well as lowering and increasing system volume

Since a power outage a couple weeks ago (my pc was on), my audio has been randomly turning on and off, no matter if it's music or videos. I checked if any device is causing that, found nothing. Troubleshooting manager didn't help, so I reinstalled audio drivers and did a reset, only worked temporarily until the recent power outage, which was yesterday. Everything was fine when I booted up my PC right after the outage, but today my audio started going wild once again. I can't do anything cause I'm working remotely and I can't ignore it, cause I need my audio to work properly for work purposes.

If you are experiencing many power outages, and the device is instantly shutting down, that may cause the Windows installation to become corrupt.

    Open the Settings App.

    Go to System - Recovery.

Click the 'Reinstall Now' button in the 'Fix problems with Windows Updates' section and wait for that process to complete.

This process is just like an update and will not affect your files, settings or installed apps.

It sounds like you're experiencing issues with your audio system that may be related to the power outage. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:

    1. Check Device Manager: Open Device Manager and ensure that your audio drivers are installed and functioning properly. If they are not, you may need to reinstall or update them.
    2. Update Audio Drivers: Visit your device manufacturer's website to download the latest audio drivers for your system model. Sometimes, outdated drivers can cause audio issues.
    3. Roll Back Drivers: If you recently updated your audio drivers and the problem started afterward, consider rolling back to the previous version of the drivers.
    4. Run the Audio Troubleshooter: Use the built-in troubleshooter by going to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters, and run the Playing Audio troubleshooter. This tool can help identify and fix common audio problems.
    5. Check for Hardware Issues: Since the problem started after a power outage, ensure that all audio devices are properly connected. Sometimes, a loose connection can cause intermittent audio issues.
    6. Test Different Audio Outputs: If you have multiple audio output devices (like speakers and headphones), try switching between them to see if the issue persists across all devices.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, it may be worth checking if any USB-connected audio devices are malfunctioning, as this can also lead to audio problems.
