Hello there,
I'm going a little crazy over how complicated it seems to just install Office for the Key i bought.
It should just be Office 2024 Professional Plus and i can activate the Key the official way, but then there's no way to download it.
It just leads to an almost blank page with a button for 32- and 64-bit installation - where I obviously choose 64 (makes no difference though - i tested). This leads to an error Page stating "Service unavailable - A technical problem has occurred. - Please try again later" ... (Servers are online though and I did wait for over an hour).
I then found a forum post providing the download for the official ProPlus2024Retail.msi and installed that - only to still ot being able to activate properly beause now my key is seemingly not correct.
E.g. Excel states: "This product key is for the volume-licensed version of Microsoft Office LTSC 2024 Professional Plus 2024, which isn't currently installed. To use this product key, contact your administrator."
Why isn't there just a button for the correct download somewhere?
Why does Microsoft want me to use 365? Why cant I just install and then use my office apps?

Both Office 2024 Professional Plus and Office 2024 Professional Plus LTSC are volume licence versions of Office used by large organizations, neither of those versions are consumer licence versions of Office, where did you purchase that Office licence, was that form an online retailer or from Groupon.
Volume license products must be deployed rather than just installed. See https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/office/ltsc/2024/deploy .
That said, if someone sold you Office LTSC and led you to believe that you purchased a consumer (home use) product, then you have been scammed. It is intended for large organizations such as businesses. See if you can get your money back from the seller.
To download Office LTSC 2024 Professional Plus, you need to use the Office Deployment Tool (ODT) and create a configuration file. Here are the steps you should follow:
setup /download configuration.xml. If your configuration file has a different name, replace configuration.xml with the correct name.Please note that you must download the 32-bit and 64-bit versions separately, and all volume-licensed Office products are included in the same download.
If you continue to have issues with activation, ensure that you are using the correct product key for the volume-licensed version of Office LTSC 2024 Professional Plus. If you purchased a retail version, it may not be compatible with the volume license installation.
