Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Hi, Michael Westcott
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.
Thanks for your question. A $20/month PayPal charge labeled “Microsoft Corporation” is almost always a subscription with recurring billing turned on (for example Microsoft 365, Xbox, storage, or an add-on). I cannot look up your invoice or transaction numbers from here, but you can identify exactly what it is in a couple of quick places.
First, check it directly in PayPal (this is the fastest way to see what agreement is pulling the money). In PayPal, go to Settings > Payments > Subscriptions and saved businesses (or Automatic Payments), select Microsoft, and you should see the plan name, next charge date, and options to cancel or change the funding source for that automatic payment.
Next, check your Microsoft account billing history. Sign in at account.microsoft.com and use the Payments/Billing area to view transactions and, if the charge looks unfamiliar, select Investigate to pull more details.
To move the subscription to another Microsoft account: if you can find the subscription under Services & subscriptions, open it and choose Manage > Change how you pay to update the payment method. If the charge is tied to a different Microsoft account (common with family members or an older login), Microsoft Support will need to locate it using the PayPal transaction details and help you stop it or re-home it. The “Investigate” flow also points you to Support options if you still cannot match the charge.
If you believe you did not authorize it, report it in PayPal’s Resolution Center to prevent further payments.
Hope this helps. Feel free to get back if you need further assistance.
