Hi @Emily
Thank you for posting question to Microsoft Q&A forum.
Based on the information you provided, I understand that you are using a company email account with both a local C: drive and a Z: (HOME/Personal) drive, and you are unable to recover Outlook email signatures that you use daily. When checking %appdata%\Microsoft\Signatures, you only see signatures dated 3/13/2025 or older, while the newer ones you created recently are missing.
Before going further, could you please help clarify a few things so I can assist you more accurately?
- Which Outlook version are you using (Classic Outlook, New Outlook, and version number if possible)?
- How is this account connected (Exchange,Microsoft 365,..)
- If it is an Exchange account, have you checked whether the signatures appear in Outlook on the Web (OWA)?
After researching this behavior, there are a few things you can try. Since Microsoft has introduced roaming (cloud-based) signatures, please refer the following information:
-Check roaming signatures behavior: Outlook may be saving signatures under the email account as “signatures on this device” or syncing them to the cloud instead of %appdata%. You can review this feature here: Outlook roaming options – Microsoft Support
-Temporarily disable cloud (roaming) signatures via registry If the signatures are stuck or not syncing back locally, you can try forcing Outlook to stop using cloud signatures:
Open Registry Editor > Navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Setup> Create a new DWORD (32-bit) value named: DisableRoamingSignaturesTemporaryToggle > Set its value to 1 > Restart Outlook and check the Signatures folder again
-Check Outlook on the Web: If the signatures were stored in the cloud, they may still exist in Outlook Web and can be copied back into Outlook manually.
Please let me know more information. I’ll do my best to help you.
