    Hello Frank McCullough,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum!

I understand that you are having issue with logging in your Microsoft account. I truly understand how you feel. Let me assist you go through this situation.

If your sign‑in email is wrong or no longer recognized, Microsoft’s system treats this as an account recovery / username issue. These are steps that work:

    1. Use the Microsoft Sign‑in Helper (Best Starting Point)

This tool checks your email, detects the specific problem, and guides you to the correct fix. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/account-billing/i-can-t-sign-in-to-my-microsoft-account-475c9b5c-8c25-49f1-9c2d-c64b7072e735

This tool will tell you exactly why your email isn’t being recognized and what to do next.

    2. If your email isn’t recognized

    Follow Microsoft’s official recovery flow:

    • Go to Recover your account: https://account.live.com/password/reset
    • Enter any alias you’ve ever used on the account (email, phone number, Skype name).
    • If the system says “We couldn’t find an account with that username”: > Use the Contact Support link on that page.

If the system won’t let you click Next, follow the instructions in the error window (starting with aka.ms/).

And, to Contact a Real Microsoft Support Agent:

    Go to: https://support.microsoft.com/contactus From there:

    • Enter your issue (e.g., “Incorrect login email”).
    • Select Get Help.
    • When the virtual agent appears, scroll down and choose Still need help?
    • Select Contact Support.

Important: Microsoft support agents cannot directly edit your account or change your login email. They can, however, escalate cases after identity verification.

Please note that the chat support team only works during certain working hours. Therefore, if the last window indicates that you are unavailable, try opening it again the next day. If you prefer phone support, you can leave a phone number. That way, they can call you and help you.

I hope this will help with your situation. Please feel free to reach back if you have further update or more questions.

    Best Regards,

If you're facing issues logging into your account due to an incorrect email address and have been unable to reach customer support, here are some potential solutions:

    1. Browser Troubleshooting: Attempt to log in using a different web browser or try using incognito mode to see if that resolves the issue.
    2. Account Recovery Form: If you can't access your account, utilize the account recovery form available at https://account.live.com/acsr. Provide as much accurate information as possible to help verify your identity.
    3. Contact Support by Phone: If you prefer speaking to a human, try calling the Microsoft support hotline. Depending on your location, there may be specific prompts to follow to reach a support agent. Make sure to indicate that you are a business user needing technical support.
    4. Create a Trial Tenant: If you are the only administrator and cannot regain access, consider setting up a trial Microsoft 365 tenant. This will allow you to log into the Admin Center and submit a support ticket directly. When you do this, clearly explain your situation and provide details about your locked account.
    5. Wait for Lockout Recovery: If your account is temporarily locked due to multiple failed login attempts, you may need to wait approximately 24 hours before trying again. Avoid making further attempts during this period to prevent extending the lockout.

These steps should assist you in regaining access to your account or connecting with support more effectively.
