This happens a lot with GoDaddy email setup. Usually the mailbox isn’t fully provisioned yet, wait a few hours and try again, or use an incognito window. If it keeps failing, contact GoDaddy support and give them the error code.

    Hello Geoff Villano,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum!

I realize that you've encountered a problem with Microsoft 365 email‑setup error. I truly understand your confusion. Let me assist you further.

For me to provide the most accurate solution, would you please let me know few information about the situation you're experiencing:

    1. Where exactly are you seeing the error?
      • GoDaddy Email & Office Dashboard?
      • Microsoft 365 Admin Center?
      • Outlook.com / Outlook app?
    2. What type of email service did you purchase with your GoDaddy domain?
      • Microsoft 365 Email Essentials / Business Starter from GoDaddy?
      • Or are you trying to connect the domain to a personal Outlook.com account?
    3. **Did GoDaddy successfully create the mailbox (e.g., ****@yourdomain.com)?
      • Do you see the mailbox listed in the GoDaddy dashboard?
    4. Have your DNS records already been added or updated?
      • Did GoDaddy automatically configure DNS for Microsoft 365?
      • Or are you managing DNS elsewhere (Cloudflare, hosting provider, etc.)?
    5. At which step does the error appear?
      • When clicking “Continue setup”?
      • When trying to verify the domain?
      • When trying to log in to the new mailbox?
    6. Are you logged in with the same Microsoft account that GoDaddy connected to?
      • GoDaddy often auto‑creates or links a Microsoft account during setup.

I am looking forward for your respond. Thank you so much for your times.

    Best Regard,

It seems like you're encountering an error while trying to finish the setup of your new email address associated with your domain from GoDaddy. The error code you provided (76616b22-46b2-46f7-a95f-756e89298400) suggests there might be an issue with the setup process or the configuration of your domain.

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Check Domain Status: Go to the Microsoft 365 admin center and check the status of your domain under Setup > Domains. Look for any notifications in the Status column that might indicate what the problem is.
    2. Verify DNS Records: Ensure that all necessary DNS records (like MX, TXT, etc.) are correctly set up at GoDaddy. You can use the domain troubleshooter in Microsoft 365 to identify any missing or incorrect records.
    3. Wait for Propagation: If you recently made changes to your DNS settings, it might take some time for those changes to propagate. Sometimes, waiting a few hours can resolve the issue.
    4. Contact Support: If the problem persists, consider reaching out to Microsoft support for assistance. You can do this by going to the admin center, selecting Help & Support, and typing your question. If needed, you can also contact technical support directly.

These steps should help you identify and potentially resolve the issue you're facing with your email setup.
