    Hi Gunderson, Robert,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand how stressful it is to find your Microsoft personal account blocked even after successfully changing the password, especially when you already have Microsoft Authenticator and a recovery email set up.

Please note that contributors and moderators on the Microsoft Q&A forum do not have access to Microsoft’s internal account systems and cannot unblock accounts or review account‑level security restrictions.

Based on your description, this is an account‑level security block, not an Outlook app issue. These blocks are automatically applied by Microsoft’s sign‑in protection systems and can remain in place even after a password change. In some cases, the restriction may clear automatically after a short cooldown period, particularly when two‑step verification is enabled, so it’s best to avoid repeated sign‑in attempts while waiting.

If the account remains blocked after waiting, the next required step is to contact Microsoft Account Support for a security review. Also, since two‑step verification is turned on, the automated account recovery or reinstatement form will not work in this scenario and cannot remove the block.

Here are the recommended steps to reach Microsoft Support via live chat:

1, Visit the Microsoft Support contact page: Contact - Microsoft Support

2, In the search bar provided on the page, type "Account recovery" and press Enter.

3, Click on the "Get Help" button that appears.

4, Scroll down the page until you see and click on the "Contact Support" option.

5, When prompted to select your product or service, choose "Other Products".

6, For the category, choose "Manage account security".

7, Look for and click on "Chat with a support agent in your web browser".

8, Confirm your personal email when prompted - this is the email Microsoft will use to communicate with you during and after the support session.

9, When connected, clearly explain your situation. Be concise but include all relevant details

I hope this helps point you to the correct support channel so the block can be reviewed and resolved.

If your Microsoft account is still blocked after successfully changing your password, there are a few steps you can take to try to regain access:

    1. Clear Browser Data: Sometimes, issues can arise from cached data. Try clearing your browser's cache and cookies, or use InPrivate mode to attempt the login again.
    2. Different Network: If possible, try accessing your account from a different network, such as your mobile data instead of Wi-Fi.
    3. Contact Support: If the above steps do not work, you may need to contact Microsoft Support for assistance. You can sign in with any account to contact support, or create a new account if you don't have one. Provide them with the necessary information to verify your identity and explain your situation.
    4. Recovery Form: If you haven't already, fill out the account recovery form again, ensuring that you provide as much accurate information as possible to help validate your account ownership.
    5. Self-Service Password Reset: If your organization allows it, you can use the self-service password reset feature to unblock your account. This may involve verifying your identity using security methods before changing your password.

If you are still unable to resolve the issue, it may be necessary to escalate the matter through Microsoft Support for further assistance.
