Hi @Terry Bliss,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A Forum.
I understand how concerning it can be when Outlook calendar appointments disappear. In many cases, events may not be permanently lost—they can be hidden, moved, deleted, or affected by synchronization issues. This behavior can occur due to any of the following:
- Accidental deletion or sync conflicts
- Hidden events caused by view filters or retention policies
- Profile, caching, or synchronization issues with mobile apps or Exchange servers
To begin troubleshooting, please visit your Outlook Calendar online at: https://outlook.office.com/calendar
This is an important first step because Outlook on the web serves as the most accurate source of your calendar data.
If your 2025 events appear online, the issue is likely related to the Outlook app’s display or sync settings.
If they do not appear online, the events may have been deleted, archived, or moved.
You can proceed to try the following steps based on the result you saw in the OWA (Outlook on the Web)
- Switch between calendar views
In the new Outlook for Windows, calendar views cannot be fully reset, but switching views may help reveal hidden items.
Please try switching between:
- Day
- Week
- Work Week
- Month
- Schedule View
- Verify that your calendar is enabled
If your events are stored in another calendar (Outlook.com, Microsoft 365, Google, etc.), it may simply be unchecked.
On the left pane:
- Expand My Calendars
- Ensure your primary calendar is checked
- Toggle it off and back on
- Clear calendar filters
Although the new Outlook has a simplified interface, filters can still hide events.
In the Calendar view, review the top toolbar for:
- Categories
- Show As
- Color filters
- Private filter
Clear or reset anything that looks active.
- Check Deleted Items
Events sometimes move to Deleted Items during sync issues.
Please check:
- Go to Mail
- Open Deleted Items
- Look for entries labeled “Calendar: [event name]”
- Right‑click and select Restore
- Recover Deleted Items (Server Recovery)
If the events are not found in Deleted Items:
- Go to Mail
- Select Deleted Items
- Choose Recover items deleted from this folder
- Restore any calendar items from 2025
- Restart Outlook to resolve sync issues
Sync interruptions may temporarily hide calendar entries.
Please try:
- Fully closing Outlook
- Reopening the app
- Forcing a manual sync by selecting your account icon and choosing Sync
Sync conflicts are a known cause of missing calendar data.
I hope this information is useful. Thank you for taking the time to raise this question. If you need any further clarification or assistance, please feel free to leave a comment under this post.
