    Greetings!

This is Tin, I'm here to assist you. When you are planning to use your old Windows license from old device to a new one, it won't automatically carry over the activation even if you sign in the same MS Account, it will still depends on the license that you have. May I know where did you get your license? Is it preinstalled on your previous computer? Or you bought it separately with your device?

If it was preinstalled, you won't be able to transfer it as it is only embedded to your old device and it can't be used to different computer.

If you have purchased the license separately to your computer, you can sign in your MS Account then go to Activation section on Windows, then run the Troubleshooter and let them know that you've recently changed your hardware.

    Thanks,

    Tin

To activate Windows on your new PC, you can follow these steps:

    1. Sign in with your Microsoft Account: Since you mentioned that your old PC had Windows activated and you're using the same account, signing in with that Microsoft account on your new PC should allow Windows to automatically reactivate if your license is linked to your account.
    2. Use the Activation Troubleshooter: If Windows does not activate automatically, you can use the Activation Troubleshooter. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Activation, and select Troubleshoot. This may help in reactivating your license.
    3. Check for Digital License: If your previous Windows installation was activated with a digital license, it should be tied to your Microsoft account. Ensure that the new hardware is recognized by Microsoft.
    4. Contact Microsoft Support: If you still face issues, you may need to contact Microsoft support to help re-bind the license to your new hardware.

By following these steps, you should be able to activate Windows on your new PC successfully.
