Hello Stacy DeGuzman, welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand your situation. Please follow these steps:

    • First, make sure the mouse is in pairing mode.
    • When the PIN prompt appears, just leave the field blank and connect anyway. It might just be a false prompt.
    • If that doesn't work, try entering 0000 or 1234
    • If those don't work, Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Add a device. This older wizard often bypasses the PIN prompt entirely.

When connecting your Microsoft Bluetooth Mouse 5000 to your Windows 11 notebook, it may prompt you for a PIN during the pairing process. This is a common requirement for Bluetooth devices to ensure a secure connection. If you have never used a PIN before, you can try entering 0000 or 1234, as these are standard default PINs for many Bluetooth devices. If the prompt persists and you do not have a specific PIN provided by the manufacturer, you may need to consult the mouse's documentation or support resources for further assistance.

If you continue to experience issues, ensure that your Bluetooth is enabled on your notebook and that the mouse is in pairing mode. You can also refer to the troubleshooting guide for Bluetooth problems in Windows for additional help.
