My laptop has been crashing several times a day, only when on battery power.

Here's my most recent bugcheck: 0x0000001e (0xffffffffc0000005, 0xfffff80210c38d43, 0x0000000000000000, 0xffffffffffffffff

Here is a link to my minidump file: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/rpjx1wnk563w2m0cskarb/020626-12468-01.zip?rlkey=gt47izxm03aa8f89v4nxh5zf6&st=u3k131ce&dl=0

If anyone could help narrow down the issue, that would be appreciated.

I have run Windows Memory Diagnostic and no issues were detected.

I have used DDU to clean drivers and installed new graphics drivers.

The battery has been recently replaced, but I still had this issue with the old battery.

    Hi,

    What is your laptop model?

According to the minidump, the Directx failure possibly fails with the video driver

    Thanks

The bug check code 0x0000001e indicates a KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED error, which typically occurs due to a faulty driver or hardware issue. Since you mentioned that the crashes happen only when your laptop is on battery power, this could suggest a problem related to power management, battery drivers, or hardware compatibility.

Here are some troubleshooting steps you can take:

    1. Update Drivers: Ensure that all your device drivers, especially for the battery and power management, are up to date. You can do this through the Device Manager.
    2. Check for Faulty Hardware: Since the issue occurs on battery power, consider checking the battery itself for any faults. You can also run hardware diagnostics provided by your laptop manufacturer.
    3. Event Viewer: Check the Event Viewer for any critical errors that occurred around the time of the crashes. This may provide more insight into the specific driver or hardware causing the issue.
    4. Memory Diagnostics: Run the Windows Memory Diagnostics tool to check for any memory issues that could be contributing to the crashes.
    5. Remove Recent Changes: If you have recently added new hardware or software, consider removing or updating them to see if that resolves the issue.
    6. Power Settings: Review your power settings in Windows to ensure they are configured correctly for battery use.

If the problem persists, you may want to analyze the minidump files using debugging tools to pinpoint the exact cause of the crash.
