Hello,

I just purchased Microsoft Office 2024. I installed on my Mac, but now cannot access any of the apps. I tried opening Word, and keep getting a message indicating it unexpectedly quit. I tried opening Poerpoint to determine if it was only Word that was faulty, or all apps. Powerpoint says that I do not have a license to use the application.

Please help! This is extremely frustrating.

I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing this issue. I’m happy to help.

Using the Microsoft account that was used for the purchase, check if your license is active:

    https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders

Open PowerPoint, click your profile picture, then select Log out. Restart your Mac computer.

Log back in using the account with the active license and check if the problem is now fixed.

It sounds like you're experiencing issues with your Microsoft Office 2024 installation on your Mac. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:

    1. Quit All Office Applications: Make sure all Office applications are closed.
    2. Remove Office Applications: Go to Finder > Applications, select all Microsoft 365 for Mac applications, and move them to Trash.
    3. Delete Application Support Files: In Finder, click on "Go" in the menu bar, then select "Go to Folder" and enter ~/Library/Containers/. Delete folders starting with com.microsoft.Word, com.microsoft.Excel, com.microsoft.Powerpoint, com.microsoft.Outlook, and com.microsoft.OneNote. Also, check the Group Containers folder in the Library and move any relevant folders to Trash.
    4. Reinstall Office: After removing the applications and their support files, sign in with your Microsoft account at Microsoft Account Services to reinstall the Office apps.
    5. Check License Assignment: If you are still having issues, ensure that your Microsoft account has the appropriate licenses assigned. You can do this in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center if applicable.
    6. Try Signing Out and Back In: Open any Office app, sign out of your account, and then sign back in to refresh your license status.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, consider reaching out to Microsoft Support for further assistance.
