    Hi,

    Via https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/4179954/why-does-microsoft-authenticator-give-you-8-digit

found a few suggestions that might help.

    1. Turn off 2 factor verification on any account that will allow you to do this.
    2. For a Microsoft account: The confusion comes in when you add the Authenticator App to your MS account. There is an option to use 3rd party compatible QR codes. If you select that you will get a 6 digit TOTP vice 8 digit TOTP.
    3. Turn two step verification on or off for a Microsoft account https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/account-billing/how-to-use-two-step-verification-with-your-microsoft-account-c7910146-672f-01e9-50a0-93b4585e7eb4
    4. For other accounts see if the code can be sent to an email account, not a mobile phoneWe are supposed to send users with Authenticator questions to Microsoft Q&A but I've spent some time searching https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/search/?terms=authenticator%20showing%208%20digit%20codes  and found a few suggestions that might help.

When using an authenticator app, the code generated can vary in length depending on the specific implementation of the two-factor authentication (2FA) system. Epic Games may require a 6-digit code, while your authenticator app is providing an 8-digit code. This discrepancy can occur if the app is configured to generate codes based on a different algorithm or if there is a misunderstanding about the required code length.

Here are a few steps you can take to resolve this issue:

    1. Verify the Account Setup: Ensure that your Epic Games account is correctly set up with the authenticator app. You might need to reconfigure the app with the correct QR code or setup key provided by Epic Games.
    2. Check for Updates: Make sure that your authenticator app is updated to the latest version, as updates can fix bugs or issues related to code generation.
    3. Contact Support: If the problem persists, consider reaching out to Epic Games support for clarification on the code requirements and assistance with your account.

If you are using a specific authenticator app, make sure to check its documentation for any specific settings that might affect the code generation.
