In Win 10 I could just click and drag the task bar to where I wanted on my screen (prefer it to be at the top.). tried all the help pages but no luck! I couldn't open some of the items (i.e. "Expand each section to learn more" ) But clicking on them didn't open them? So far very disappointed in Win 11

    Hi Joan G,
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum. I'm happy to help.

Windows 11 does not support Taskbar movement yet.

At this moment, the only workaround is to use third party applications. I will give you 3 of them: StartAllBack, ExplorerPatcher and Windhawk.

Hi, I'm Bernard, a fellow Windows user. I'm happy to help!

Unfortunately, the functionality to move the taskbar to the top of the screen has been removed in Windows 11. And there is no news if that will get back. Moreover, since this is a limitation of Windows 11, I recommend submitting your ideas or suggestions about the taskbar to the feedback hub.

Let me know how it goes, and I hope that helps.

In Windows 11, the ability to move the taskbar to the top of the screen is not available as it was in Windows 10. Currently, the taskbar can only be positioned at the bottom of the screen. Users have expressed similar frustrations regarding this limitation, and it appears that Microsoft has not provided an option to drag the taskbar to different locations on the screen in Windows 11.

If you are looking for customization options for the taskbar, you can access some settings through Settings > Personalization > Taskbar. However, moving the taskbar to the top is not supported in this version.

For feedback or suggestions regarding this feature, you can use the Feedback Hub by pressing WIN + F to report your experience to Microsoft.
