Transfer my personal files to my business account online

Tired of the double fee con they're running.

As far as possible I want to run everything off my microsoft business account as I've just paid AGAIN for office. I own the business the account is associated with.

The first problem I'm running into is transferring all of my files from OneDrive to my business account. I don't have enough space to do a local transfer. Surely there is a way I can transfer my personal onedrive contents to my business onedrive?

Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

Microsoft’s recommended way to transfer all of your files from your personal OneDrive account to your OneDrive for Business account is to sign in to both accounts in the OneDrive desktop app. Then, move the files from your personal OneDrive folder to your work OneDrive folder. If you have more than 100 GB of data in your personal cloud, Microsoft recommends moving the files in smaller batches instead of transferring everything at once.

When syncing, you should see a blue circular arrow icon on the files. Once the files are synced, you will see green check marks on each file. You can then transfer the next batch of files from your personal account.

This is also the easiest way to transfer your files from your business account back to your personal account.

If this is not an option, you will need to look for third‑party cloud storage transfer tools online. These may require a subscription or one‑time payment, and using them is generally not recommended.

To transfer your personal OneDrive files to your business OneDrive account without enough space for a local transfer, you can use the following method:

    1. Sync Both Accounts: Make sure both your personal OneDrive and your business OneDrive accounts are synced to your device. You can do this by signing into both accounts on the OneDrive app.
    2. Drag and Drop: Once both accounts are synced, you can easily drag and drop files from your personal OneDrive folder to your business OneDrive folder in File Explorer. Look for the blue circular arrows indicating that the files are syncing to the cloud, and wait for the green check marks to confirm that the files have finished syncing.
    3. Access from the Web: Alternatively, you can access your files through a web browser by signing into office.com with your work email and selecting OneDrive. You can then upload files directly from there if needed.

If you need to move a large amount of data, consider using the SharePoint Migration Tool or the Migration Manager, which can help facilitate the transfer of files to your business account more efficiently.
