Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Dear @Deepak Shinde,
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A.
Thank you for your question and I understand why these versions numbers can be confusing.
From what you described, it looks like you are trying to move from version 16 to version 19, but I’d like to clarify that Microsoft actually doesn’t release “Office 17, 18 or 19” as separate product generations.
All subscription‑based Microsoft 365 Apps stay on the same major version 16.0, even in 2026.
The number you see (19.2601.46121.0) is not a different Office product. It is simply a newer build inside the same Microsoft 365 Apps family. That’s why your devices on 16.0.19628.20150 are still considered “version 16”, even though newer builds show “19.xxxxx” internally.
When a machine stays on an older build for a long time, it usually means: the device is on a slower update channel managed by your organization, or updates are controlled by IT through Group Policy, Intune or SCCM, or the installed product is not Microsoft 365 Apps (for example Office 2019/2021 LTSC), which does not upgrade to newer cloud builds.
Once the update channel is corrected and the device is confirmed to be running Microsoft 365 Apps (not LTSC), it will automatically move to the latest build which is the one showing 19.xxxxx.
If you can share what appears under File > Account > Product Information, I can help you interpret exactly which edition is installed and why it isn’t upgrading yet.
Please understand that our initial response does not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.
I hope this information helps point you in the right direction. If you run into any issues while trying the steps, or if something still doesn’t feel quite right, please don’t hesitate to reach out again. I’ll do my best to support you however I can.
Looking forward to hearing back from you with any updates or additional details.
Warm regards,
