Hi Mark Munene,
Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A Forum. I understand that your webcam appears on your computer but its drivers are not automatically installing.
To help narrow this down, could you please confirm:
- What is the brand and model of the webcam?
- Does the webcam show any warning icon in Device Manager?
In the meantime, you can try these steps:
- Restart your PC and keep it connected to the internet to allow Windows Update to check for drivers again.
- Open Device Manager, locate the webcam under Cameras or Imaging devices, right-click it, and select Update driver, then choose Search automatically for drivers.
- If the device appears as Unknown device, right-click it, select Uninstall device, restart the PC, and let Windows reinstall it automatically.
- Check Windows Update and install all available optional updates related to drivers.
- Visit the webcam manufacturer’s official website and download the latest Windows 11 driver for your specific model.
- Connect the webcam to a different USB port to rule out a port-related issue.
