So my other Microsoft account was hacked a month ago i tried to recover it but i couldn't and the Microsoft email told me to create a new one. Recently i opened my Microsoft authenticator app and i saw that my email was still logged into it and i was still getting the one time password code on it when i tried to changed my password through the authenticator it showed which email my account was changed into when i tried to login to the account through one time password code it showed an error saying there is temporary problem with the service when i tried to login on the laptop it shows that the account is suspended. I thought that Microsoft authenticator one time password code will help me recover the account if the account was not suspended is there any thing that i can do now that can help me in recovering the account?

    Dear Anish Rasheed

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A forum. I understand you’re trying to regain access to a personal Microsoft account that appears hacked, now shows as suspended, and you’re still seeing codes in Microsoft Authenticator but can’t sign in. I am happy to assist you. Please follow these steps :

    • If you’re told the account is locked beyond self‑service, submit the official Locked‑Account Review form
This is the only channel Microsoft uses to review and reinstate consumer accounts that are locked for Terms‑of‑Use or abuse reasons; you’ll receive a ticket by email and subsequent status updates. See : If your account has been locked - Microsoft Support
    • After the lock is cleared, use Microsoft Authenticator to sign in (since it still shows your account)
On the sign‑in page choose Other ways to sign in > Approve a request in Microsoft Authenticator (or use the one‑time code from the app). Authenticator can only work after the suspension/lock is removed.
    • If prior recovery attempts failed, submit the account recovery form with stronger evidence
Enter the original account email (even if the alias was changed), use a reachable contact email, and add maximum detail (old passwords, email subjects, folders you created, frequent contacts, Xbox gamertag, Microsoft Store order numbers/payment last 4 digits, OneDrive file names). You can retry up to two times per day.
    • If two‑step verification was ON and you no longer have any verification method  For security, Microsoft cannot bypass 2SV. The only viable path is a previously saved 25‑character recovery code; if you have it, use Other ways to sign in > I don’t have any of these > Enter recovery code to regain access and reset your password.
    • If all steps fail, please contact Microsoft Support directly.
      • Visit Contact - Microsoft Support
      • Type a brief description of your issue in the search box
      • Scroll down to the bottom > select Sign in to contact support
      • Log in to another available personal Microsoft account.
      • Under Products & Services, select "Other Products"; Under Categories, select "Manage account security", and click Confirm.
      • Click "Chat with a support agent in your web browser" (during business hours)
