Webpages no longer display accurately and icons are not recognisable

For about 6 months, some websites that I visit daily, no longer display as they did. The font is often different and icons display incorrectly making them unrecognisable. While it's generally more annoying than anything else, the icons being unreadable, I have twice taken a guess and clicked incorrectly on banking sites which has made for a bit of work to correct the mistake. I have googled this thing to death but not really found any useful answers. There are suggestions it could be to do with a Microsoft update but I haven't been able to identify any update that would have affected my system in that way.

If anyone is able to help I would be very grateful.

It sounds like you are experiencing display issues with certain websites, which could be related to recent updates or changes in your browser settings. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:

    1. Clear Browser Cache: Sometimes, cached data can cause display issues. Clearing your browser's cache may help.
    2. Disable Hardware Acceleration: If you haven't already, try disabling hardware acceleration in your browser settings. This can sometimes resolve rendering issues.
    3. Check Accessibility Settings: Ensure that any accessibility settings, such as high contrast mode, are turned off, as they can affect how websites are displayed.
    4. Update Your Browser: Make sure that your browser is up to date. Sometimes, display issues are resolved in newer versions.
    5. Reset Browser Settings: If the problem persists, consider resetting your browser settings to default, which can often fix various issues.

If these steps do not resolve the problem, it may be worth checking if there are any known issues with the specific websites you are visiting or if there are any recent updates from Microsoft that could have affected your system's display settings.
