Bought a new, unformatted Memorex USB stick. Entered into Sony Bravia to expand memory. Reformatted using TV (per instructions) - after formatting, indicated it could not transfer files to stick. I used eject function and it indicated "Memorex safe to remove", I took it out and wanted to try to reformat it. Restarted TV, entered stick and got "Memorex safe to remove." I pulled it to reformat using WINDOWS 11. Explorer does not recognize it at all; Settings finds it; but I cannot reformat it at all. removed USB Root driver, rebooted and reinstalled. No change.

I want to expand my TV storage - but cannot get past the "Memorex safe to remove" tag on the USB. Help!

It sounds like you're experiencing issues with your USB stick not being recognized properly by Windows 11 after formatting it with your Sony Bravia TV. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Check Device Manager: Since you mentioned that Explorer does not recognize the USB stick, check if it appears in Device Manager. Look for any devices with an exclamation mark or any errors. If you find it, try uninstalling the device and then scanning for hardware changes to reinstall it.
    2. Use Disk Management: Open Disk Management by right-clicking the Start button and selecting it from the menu. Look for your USB stick in the list of drives. If it appears as unallocated space or has no drive letter, you may need to initialize or assign a drive letter to it.
    3. Format the USB Stick: If the USB stick is visible in Disk Management, you can try to format it from there. Right-click on the USB drive and select the format option. Make sure to choose a file system that is compatible with your TV, such as FAT32.
    4. Try a Different USB Port or Computer: If the USB stick still does not work, try connecting it to a different USB port on your computer or to a different computer altogether. This can help determine if the issue is with the USB stick or the original computer.
    5. Check for Hardware Issues: If the USB stick does not work on multiple devices, it may be defective. Consider testing it with another USB stick to see if the problem persists.
    6. Backup Important Files: If you manage to access the USB stick, ensure you back up any important files before attempting further formatting or troubleshooting.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may want to consult the manufacturer's support or consider replacing the USB stick if it appears to be faulty.
