    Hi Aryan,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand how disruptive this can be, especially when you’re relying on Read Aloud for focus or accessibility.

The Online (Natural) voices stream speech in real time rather than generating audio locally. If there’s a delay in receiving the next segment of audio, playback can briefly pause before continuing. This can occur even when Edge is fully up to date and the device is working normally.

Here are some possible options as workarounds that you may find helpful:

    1 - Switch to a local voice

    • Try a non‑online voice (for example, Microsoft David/Zira). These are generated locally and play continuously without pauses.

    2 - Use Immersive Reader

    • Open the page in Immersive Reader and start Read Aloud there. This mode often reduces pauses by reading larger sections at once.

I know this isn’t the smooth experience you’re aiming for, and I appreciate the time you’ve already spent troubleshooting. Hopefully one of the options above helps you get back to uninterrupted listening.

If you're experiencing issues with the Read Aloud feature in Microsoft Edge pausing frequently while using natural language voices, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can consider:

    1. Check Internet Connection: Since some voices may rely on online services, ensure your internet connection is stable. If you're using a voice that requires Azure Cognitive Services, any network issues could affect performance.
    2. Change Voice Settings: Try switching to a different voice in the Read Aloud settings. Sometimes, specific voices may have performance issues depending on your system configuration.
    3. Clear Cache: Since you've already reinstalled Edge, make sure to clear any cached data that might be affecting performance. You can do this by going to Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Clear browsing data.
    4. Check for Background Applications: Ensure that no other applications are consuming significant resources on your Mac, as this could affect the performance of Read Aloud.
    5. Adjust Volume Settings: Sometimes, audio settings can interfere with playback. Check your system volume and any audio enhancements that may be enabled.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, it may be beneficial to report the problem to Microsoft Support for further assistance.
