I'm trying to recover the bitlocker key for one of my computers, but when I open the devices page on my MS account, none of my registered devices are displaying. How do I recover?

Hi! If your device doesn't appear in your account, you must have linked another account to your Windows system. The BitLocker Key can be in any email. Check all your personal emails. Also check if any Google (Gmail) or other domain emails have the Key linked to them. Emails from other domains can also be Microsoft accounts.

    • When you log into Windows or any system application using a different domain account (such as Gmail), Microsoft creates a Microsoft Account for you using your email.
    1. Go to the website below > Log in with one of your emails > See if the Recovery Key is saved in the Email.

    https://account.microsoft.com/

    1. If you can't find your Recovery Key, log out of the Account and log in to another one.
    2. Also log in with your Google Account or another domain account that you have used in any Windows application.
    • If you get the message that the account was not found, go to the websites below and see if one of them works.

    https://myaccount.microsoft.com/

    https://mysignins.microsoft.com/

    https://azure.microsoft.com/en-ca/account

    1. Sign in with emails of family members who are with you. Sometimes the Recovery Key may be in one of their emails.

If your devices are not showing up on the Microsoft account devices page, it might be due to a few reasons:

    1. Device Not Registered: Ensure that the device you are trying to recover the BitLocker key for is registered under the same Microsoft account you are using to access the devices page.
    2. Account Issues: Sometimes, there might be issues with your Microsoft account. Try signing out and signing back in, or check if there are any notifications regarding your account.
    3. BitLocker Management: If BitLocker is managed through a different method (like Microsoft BitLocker Administration and Monitoring or Intune), you may need to contact your administrator for assistance.

If you still cannot see your devices, you may need to follow the recovery process for BitLocker as outlined in the documentation. If your recovery key is not available through your Microsoft account, you might need to consider other recovery options, such as using a recovery image if necessary.
