I struggle to get access my BitLocker recovery key. It is saved to my Microsoft account (confirmed by the manage-bde command on my PC), but the account portal does not display it.
When I go to the recovery key page on my Microsoft account, the page loads a skeleton layout but the actual content never appears. I only see grey placeholders. I also get error messages with a TraceID when trying alternative URLs.
What I have tested:
- Multiple browsers (Chrome, Edge, mobile)
- Multiple devices (2 computers, 2 smartphones)
- Multiple networks (home Wi-Fi, mobile data)
- Incognito mode
Other Microsoft accounts work perfectly on the same device and browser, so the issue is specific to my account
Using browser DevTools (F12), I can see an HTTP 404 error on a JavaScript file from the account portal. The script fails to load, which prevents the page from rendering.
I contacted Microsoft support today and spoke with 5 different agents across multiple teams. One agent confirmed this is a server-side issue affecting my account. However, no one was able to provide a workaround or a timeline for resolution. I am a physician and this computer contains important work files that I need to work. I would greatly appreciate any guidance on how to resolve this or any alternative way to retrieve my recovery key.
