Issue type: Account & Billing → Sign-in issues Error code: AADSTS5000225

Description:

I am unable to sign in to Azure using my Microsoft personal account. When I attempt to sign in, I receive the error AADSTS5000225, indicating that the tenant associated with my account has been blocked.

I created an Azure Free Account (12-month free tier) using this Microsoft personal email address. However, I am unable to access the Azure portal and do not have visibility of the tenant ID.

I do not have access to any Global Administrator account and cannot retrieve the tenant ID because sign-in is blocked.

Please assist with:

Locating the tenant associated with my Microsoft personal account

Identifying why the tenant was blocked

Restoring access if possible, or advising on next steps if recovery is not possible

Microsoft account email: <personal outlook email> Approximate date the Azure free account was created: <07-02-26> Country/Region used during signup: <UAE>

The error code AADSTS5000225 indicates that your tenant has been blocked due to inactivity. This typically occurs when a tenant is not used for a period of time, and Microsoft takes this action to help reduce unnecessary expenses for organizations.

    To address your situation:

    1. Locating the Tenant: Since you created an Azure Free Account, the tenant associated with your Microsoft personal account should be accessible through the Azure portal. However, since your access is blocked, you may need to contact Microsoft support for assistance in locating the tenant ID.
    2. Identifying Why the Tenant Was Blocked: The tenant was likely blocked due to inactivity, which is a standard procedure by Microsoft for accounts that have not been accessed for a certain period.
    3. Restoring Access: To restore access, you can try reaching out to Microsoft support directly. As a user without a Global Administrator account, you may not have the ability to reactivate the tenant yourself. Microsoft support can assist you in reactivating the tenant within 20 days of it being marked inactive. If more than 20 days have passed, the tenant may be deleted and not recoverable.

If you need further assistance, consider contacting the Azure Data Protection team or Microsoft support for specific guidance on your account.
