Greetings,

I'm looking for some clarity from the community and/or Microsoft experts around Copilot Studio (formerly PVA) for Teams, specifically on Generative AI enablement and Power Automate connectivity.

1. Generative AI feature in Copilot Studio (Teams bot) I already have access to Copilot Studio and can build bots successfully. However, I’m unable to use the Generative AI / AI-powered responses capability, and my M365 admins are unsure how this feature is enabled.

I’m trying to understand:

•Does the Generative AI feature require an additional license beyond Copilot Studio? My admin says the Generative AI feature  is already available; however, I don't see that feature in my graph.

•Is this controlled via: •A tenant-level setting •An environment-level setting •A Copilot Studio / Power Platform admin setting •Once enabled: •Can it be enabled for specific users or environments?

•If the feature is enabled after a bot is already published: •Will it automatically apply to the existing published bot once republished, or

•It applies to newly built bots once the feature is added? If anyone can point to the exact admin steps, policies, or documentation links, that would be incredibly helpful.

2. Power Automate connection issue inside Copilot Studio (Teams) I’m also facing an issue integrating Power Automate with my Teams bot.

What I’m trying to do:

•Create a SharePoint List

•Trigger automated / scheduled reminders via the bot

•Use Power Automate flows directly within Copilot Studio

Issue:

•Inside Copilot Studio, Power Automate shows “No connection”

•I’m unable to add the bot to the Power Automate flow I created online. Error says "no bot found"

My questions for admins / experts:

•What admin permissions or policies are required to:

•Allow Copilot Studio to connect to Power Automate

•Are there specific requirements around: •Power Platform environmentsDLP policies

Service principal permissions

•Does Power Automate need to be:

•Enabled separately for Teams

•Enabled per user or per environment? Ultimately, I’m trying to build a bot that can send scheduled reminders automatically, but I’m currently blocked due to missing connections.

Any guidance, screenshots, or real-world setup experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for your time in advance!

    1. Generative AI Feature in Copilot Studio:
      • The Generative AI feature does not inherently require an additional license beyond what is needed for Copilot Studio. However, its availability can depend on several settings and configurations.
      • It is controlled by:
        • Tenant-level settings: Your admin may need to check if the tenant settings allow for generative AI features.
        • Environment-level settings: Ensure that the environment you are using has generative AI features enabled.
        • Copilot Studio / Power Platform admin settings: Your admin should verify if the settings in the Power Platform admin center allow for generative AI features.
      • Once enabled, it can typically be applied to specific users or environments, depending on how the admin configures it.
      • If the feature is enabled after a bot is published, it will generally apply to existing published bots once republished. However, it may also apply to newly built bots once the feature is added, depending on the specific implementation and settings.
    2. Power Automate Connection Issue Inside Copilot Studio:
      • To connect Power Automate with your Teams bot, ensure that the necessary admin permissions or policies are in place.
      • The following are important:
        • Allow Copilot Studio to connect to Power Automate: Your admin needs to check if there are any restrictions in place that could prevent this connection.
        • Power Platform environments: Ensure that the environment is properly set up to allow connections.
        • DLP policies: Data Loss Prevention policies may restrict the use of Power Automate with certain connectors or services.
        • Service principal permissions: Ensure that the service principal has the necessary permissions to access Power Automate.
      • Power Automate may need to be enabled separately for Teams, and this can be done at both the user and environment levels.
      • If you are facing a "No connection" issue, it might be due to these settings not being configured correctly.
      • For creating SharePoint lists and triggering automated reminders, ensure that the flows are correctly set up and that the bot is properly integrated into those flows.

For further guidance, it may be helpful to consult the relevant documentation or reach out to your Microsoft support for detailed steps and troubleshooting specific to your setup.
