Hello. I deleted the Home icon in File Explorer on my Windows 11 PC using the registry, but it still appears.

If I restart File Explorer, it doesn't appear, but it reappears if I move or copy a file.

It hides when I restart, then reappears when I move or copy a file.

It keeps disappearing after restarting, then reappearing when I move or copy a file.

Is there a solution? Since it's built into the Windows system, is it difficult to completely hide or remove it?

I see. I'm not sure what method you used to remove the Home tab, but you can remove it once again using the method from this page to see if it helps. If it doesn't work, it is possible that the preview update you mentioned may be causing this problem.

Just to make sure, did you restart your PC after uninstalling the third-party apps? Also, before this happened, did you change Home's position to the bottom of the navigation pane through the registry?

Does your File Explorer return to the default Windows 11 style? After reverting File Explorer to its original style, is the Home tab still showing up?

    Hi,

From the looks of it, the ExplorerPatcher is still not uninstalled. Press Windows + R then enter appwiz.cpl then uninstall it from there.

    Hi,

Have you made any changes to your File Explorer like revert it classic Explorer or through a third-party app? Would you be able to post a screenshot of your File Explorer? I found an older post describing a similar issue, and after checking, it turns out it was your previous post. In those screenshots, the File Explorer interface appeared to be modified and looked closer to the default Windows 10 style, as it had square edges instead of the rounded corners typically seen in Windows 11. If you’ve made any modifications, that could be why Home keeps appearing.
