Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A Forum. I understand you cannot use your Windows 11 device because Windows Hello keeps asking for verification from a compromised Microsoft account that was originally used on the laptop.
Before moving forward, I would like to clarify a bit more:
- Are you currently able to sign into Windows using the local PIN or password?
- Is the compromised Microsoft account still listed under Accounts in your Windows settings?
In the meantime, you can try these steps:
1, Check if the device is using a local account instead of the compromised Microsoft account
- Go to Windows Settings > Accounts
- Open Your info
- Check if it shows “Local account”
2, Remove Windows Hello sign‑in methods
- Go to Windows Settings > Go to Accounts
- Open Sign‑in options
- Remove Face, Fingerprint, and PIN if available
3, Disconnect the old Microsoft account from Windows
- Go to Windows Settings > Go to Accounts > Your Accounts
- Remove any Microsoft account listed under Accounts used by other apps
4, Convert the current profile to a new Microsoft account
- Go to Windows Settings > Go to Accounts
- Select Your info
- Choose Sign in with a Microsoft account instead
5, Reset Windows Hello key‑based credentials
- Open Settings
- Go to Privacy & security
- Select Windows Hello
- Recreate the PIN
