Microsoft project management software used to plan, manage, and communicate a project schedule and other information among workgroup members, project managers, and other stakeholders.
Dear @Roett Joanne,
Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.
I understand you’re following the instructions provided by your school, but you’re unable to find Project Professional 2019 in the download list.
Since your school’s instructions are the primary guidance for accessing the correct license, I recommend following their steps first. After reviewing the process, I have outlined the steps clearly below, along with two additional options you can try if the app still does not appear in your download list:
Option 1: Follow your school’s instructions
Step 1: Open a private or incognito browser window to avoid issues with old cached data.
Step 2: Copy and paste the link provided by your school.
Step 3: Scroll down until you see the “Microsoft Imagine Software (Project, Visio, Access) Shop Imagine / Azure Dev” section and select it.
Step 4: Sign in using your school account and enter any required personal information accurately. Even a small typo may prevent the system from validating your account.
Step 5: Verify your school account when prompted.
Step 6: Navigate to Education/Overview, Learning resources > Software, then search for “Project”.
Step 7: Select “View key” and make sure to copy the product key.
Step 8: Proceed to download the software.
Step 9: Once the installation file has downloaded, open it and follow the prompts. When asked, enter the key you copied earlier to activate your license.
These steps help the system recognize the Project license assigned by your school and ensure the installation activates successfully.
Option 2: Install Project through your Microsoft 365 account
If your school has assigned you Project Plan 3, Project Plan 5, or a combination of Planner and Project licenses, you may be able to install the Project Online Desktop Client directly from your Microsoft 365 portal.
Step 1: Open a private or incognito browser window.
Step 2: Sign in with your school account at office.com.
Step 3: Go to Apps.
Step 4: Select Install apps.
Step 5: Choose Microsoft 365 apps, then go to Apps & devices.
Step 6: Select Install Project.
Option 3: Contact your school’s IT administrator
If the application still does not appear even after trying the options above, your school’s IT administrator will be able to check your account licensing directly. I recommend asking them to confirm whether the Project license has been assigned correctly and to assist you with downloading the appropriate version.
