I’m getting so many emails from ******@Outlook.com saying rejected or unable to send because it’s hotmail.com

I still have email address of Hotmail.com. Is that why I’m getting so many rejected messages from postmaster@outlook?  Both in my junk and inbox. Some messages get delivered to both. Also some of people on my contact list say when they try to send me an email it says unable to deliver. I’m thinking that for some reason Outlook.com is refusing.

It sounds like you are experiencing issues with email delivery related to your Hotmail.com address. Here are some potential reasons for the rejected messages:

    1. Email Address Issues: If your Hotmail.com address is still active, but you are receiving rejections, it could be due to how the email is being processed by Outlook.com. Sometimes, if the email address is not recognized or is incorrectly configured, it may lead to delivery failures.
    2. Spam Filters: Emails from your contacts may be getting filtered as spam, which could explain why they are receiving delivery failure messages. If your email is being flagged as spam, it may not reach your inbox or junk folder.
    3. Blocked Senders: If your address has been flagged for any reason (such as previous spam activity), it might be blocked from receiving emails from certain senders.
    4. Reverse DNS Lookup Failures: If your contacts are sending emails from an IP address that fails a reverse DNS lookup, Outlook.com might reject those emails.

    To troubleshoot this issue:

    • Check the settings in your Outlook account to ensure that your Hotmail address is properly configured.
    • Ask your contacts to check their email settings and ensure they are not inadvertently blocking your address.
    • You might also want to check if your email address is listed in any spam databases or if your IP address is blocked.

If the problem persists, consider reaching out to Microsoft support for further assistance.
