I recently purchased Office 2024 for installation on a new Mac. I installed the product but each time I try to open an app, it says it cannot find a license. On my microsoft account page, however this product is listed under Subscriptions. I have 2 copies of the software--one is on an older computer and the recent purchase is for a new computer. I am not able to open or use any of the apps in office on the new computer.
It is a Macbook Air running Tahoe 26.2.
I would be grateful for any assistance to overcome this error about not having a license.

Could you try to uninstall all Office app again.
After that, please try to remove Office license files on a Mac: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/how-to-remove-office-license-files-on-a-mac-b032c0f6-a431-4dad-83a9-6b727c03b193
Then download the installer again in https://account.microsoft.com/services

Thank you for your prompt reply. Unfortunately this did not solve my problem. It seems like it is not recognizing that I have the stand alone application and wants me to purchase a license for 365. None of the applications will open without causing this message.

Thank you for letting me know. Just to double-check, please uninstall all Office products first using the steps provided in the link. This is very important. You can also restart Office apps, make sure to sign out of all Office apps, and sign in again.

Thanks, John. Sorry I wasn't clear. I did uninstall all of the apps and deleted the items in the library folders indicated in your link. I have not been able to log in to any apps because, when I try to open an app it connects me to MS where I get this message and I can never access any of the apps.
