I purchased more storage on OneDrive a few months ago. Today I was locked out of oneDrive on my phone and the message said I was out of storage. My laptop shows I am only using 6% of my storage.

What do I have to do to get the phone to see I have ample storage

none of the replies have helped. I have more than ample storage, paying monthly, but is not visible on the phone still locked out saying I am out of storage

    Hi Daniel Lee,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Forum!

Have a good day and I hope you're doing well!

I completely understand how frustrating it is to be locked out of your OneDrive on your phone after purchasing more storage, especially when your laptop confirms that you have plenty of space left (only 6% used). It sounds like a synchronization issue where the Android app hasn't updated your new account status yet.

To resolve this, please follow these steps:

    1. Double-check the Email Address: Please open OneDrive on both your phone and your laptop. Compare the email addresses logged in on both devices to ensure they match 100%. Sometimes, phones may auto-login to an old personal account or a different business alias.

    2. Sign Out and Sign In: On your Android phone, please Sign out of the OneDrive app completely, and then sign back in. This action forces the app to refresh and fetch the latest storage quota from the server.

    3. Reset the App (Clear Cache & Data): If the issue persists, the app might be stuck with old data.

    • Go to Settings on your phone > Apps > OneDrive > Storage
    • Tap Clear Cache and then Clear Data

Note: This will not delete your files, it only resets the app's settings.

    • Open OneDrive and log in again.

    4. Verify Quota on the Web: Open a web browser on your phone and log in to onedrive.live.com. Check if the web version shows the correct storage (6%). If the web is correct, the issue is definitely isolated to the app, and steps 2 or 3 should fix it.

I hope this helps! If you have any updates or further questions, or if I misunderstood your concern, please feel free to reach out anytime.

It seems that you are experiencing an issue with OneDrive on your phone, where it indicates that you are out of storage despite having ample space available on your laptop. This could be due to a few reasons:

    1. Account Suspension: If your OneDrive account has been suspended or frozen, it may lead to access issues. Ensure that your account is active and not frozen due to inactivity or exceeding storage limits.
    2. Sync Issues: Sometimes, the OneDrive app on your phone may not sync properly with your account. You can try unlinking and relinking your OneDrive account on your phone to resolve any configuration issues.
    3. Storage Display: The OneDrive app may not be accurately reflecting your storage status. You can check your storage directly through the OneDrive settings or the website to confirm your available space.

To resolve the issue, you can try the following steps:

    • Check your OneDrive storage on the app or website to verify the actual usage.
    • Unlink and relink your OneDrive account on your phone to refresh the connection.
    • Reset the OneDrive app if the issue persists, which can help clear any cached data that may be causing the problem.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, consider reaching out to Microsoft support for further assistance.
