    Dear @Rivers, Charles L,

Good day. Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum!

First of all, I’m sorry you’re having a problem and for the situation you encountered, I deeply understand the inconvenience caused and apologize for it.

If you are using work/school account, you can add or edit your own authentication methods in My Sign Ins | Security info. For example, to change the phone number, select Phone number and tap Change.

Additionally, you can contact your IT admin to add or change authentication methods for you in the Microsoft Entra admin center.

Please refer to: Manage user authentication methods for Microsoft Entra multifactor authentication

If you’re unsure who the Global Admin is within your organization, you can find guidance on locating them here: How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support.

Please feel free to reply below if I'm misunderstanding. Your understanding and co-operation are highly appreciated. Thank you for your precious time. Have a nice day!

To change your verification phone number in Microsoft 365, follow these steps:

    1. Sign in to your Microsoft account: Go to the Microsoft account security page and sign in with your account credentials.
    2. Access Security Info: Navigate to the "Security info" section. Here, you will see the current verification methods associated with your account.
    3. Add a new phone number: Click on "Add method" and select "Phone". Enter the new phone number you wish to use for verification.
    4. Verify the new phone number: You will receive a verification code via SMS to the new number. Enter this code to confirm the change.
    5. Remove the old phone number: Once the new number is verified, you can remove the old phone number from your account if desired.

If you are currently blocked from verifying your account, you may need to complete the recovery form to regain access. You can find more information on how to do this in the Microsoft support documentation.
