I need to get a refund for my purchase 2/6/2026 of WinHome11 Digital

I installed it on a virtual machine to test. Now I want to use the license on real PC hardware. THe system will not allow me to deactivate the license.

There is a lot of information online, but most of it is unhelpful. I hate to spend $120 only to have it tied up on a phantom license that I can't use anymore.

Thanks for your help.

On the PC, open the Settings App, then go to System - Activation.

Click the Troubleshoot button and select 'I changed my hardware, then select the previously activated service, that process should move the licence from the Vm to the PC.

If that process does not resolve the activation problem, try using the process they provide on this link.

To request a refund for your Windows 11 Home license purchased from the Microsoft Store, you will need to follow the refund process outlined by Microsoft. Generally, refunds for digital purchases can be requested through the Microsoft Store within a specific timeframe after the purchase. Since you mentioned that the license is tied to a virtual machine and you want to use it on real hardware, you may need to contact Microsoft support directly for assistance in this matter, especially since you are unable to deactivate the license yourself.

Here are the steps you can take:

    1. Visit the Microsoft support page to initiate a refund request.
    2. Sign in with your Microsoft account.
    3. Select the product you need help with and describe your issue.
    4. Follow the prompts to contact support or request a refund.

If you encounter difficulties, reaching out to customer support directly may provide you with the best resolution for your situation.
