My microsoft 365 account is set to one email but my laptop is set to another email. So I'm not sure I'm getting the full 365 service. I've added the 365 related email under the Settings/Accounts/Family and changed to administrator but how do I make it the main account for the laptop? How do I do this without setting up a local account

Thanks in advance

The account you use to install and activate Office doesn't have to the same that you use to log in to your PC (although it may be easier to have just one account). See https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/sign-in-to-microsoft-365-b9582171-fd1f-4284-9846-bdd72bb28426 .

To make your Microsoft 365 account the main account on your laptop without setting up a local account, you will need to change the email associated with your Microsoft account on your device. Here are the steps you can follow:

    1. Sign in with the desired Microsoft account: Go to Settings > Accounts > Your info. Here, you can sign in with the Microsoft account that you want to set as the primary account.
    2. Change your account type: Make sure that the account you want to use has administrator privileges. You can check this under Settings > Accounts > Family & other users. Select the account and ensure it is set as an administrator.
    3. Remove the old account: If you want to remove the old email account from your laptop, go to Settings > Accounts > Family & other users, select the old account, and choose to remove it. This will ensure that your laptop is only using the new Microsoft 365 account.
    4. Restart your laptop: After making these changes, restart your laptop to ensure that all settings take effect.

Following these steps should help you set your desired Microsoft 365 account as the main account on your laptop without needing to create a local account.
