Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. I am attempting to sign on to outlook through my Gmail account and to have my Gmail emails (inbound and outbound) go entirely through outlook.com. This is normally very simple, however I've hit a barrier in MS365's outlook.live.com version. Here's the steps I go through to sign on with my Gmail account however it goes into a loop on one of the steps through google- see below

  1. Go into Ms365, click on outlook
  2. in Outlook.live.com, click on "add Gmail account" in top left bar
  3. Google URL appears to "choose an account"
  4. Click on "choose an account" Google page and "You’re signing back in to Microsoft apps & services" page appears
  5. Click Continue on that Google page
  6. Then Google page "Microsoft apps and services wants access to your account", click approve and continue
  7. THEN- HERES THE ERROR
  8. the Google URL appears to "Choose an Account" page, requiring another loop of the same pages. This loop continues and does not allow outlook.live.com to sync while the URL in outlook.live is actually my Gmail account.

All of this is being done on a Lenovo Google chromebook, in the Google chrome browser

All i'd like is to have my Gmail readable in outlook.com and its not working.

I am confused. If I open https://outlook.live.com/ there is no "add GMail" link anywhere. Are we talking about this page?

It seems like you're experiencing an issue with the authentication process when trying to connect your Gmail account to Outlook on the web. This looping issue can sometimes occur due to a few reasons. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:

    1. Clear Browser Cache and Cookies: Sometimes, cached data can cause issues with authentication. Try clearing your browser's cache and cookies, then attempt to sign in again.
    2. Enable IMAP in Gmail: Ensure that IMAP is enabled in your Gmail settings. You can do this by signing into your Gmail account, going to Settings > Forwarding and POP/IMAP, and ensuring that "Enable IMAP" is selected.
    3. Check 2-Step Verification: If you have 2-step verification enabled on your Gmail account, ensure that you have created an app password for Outlook. You will need to enter this app password instead of your regular Gmail password when prompted in Outlook.
    4. Try a Different Browser: If the issue persists, try using a different browser or an incognito window to see if that resolves the looping problem.
    5. Disable Browser Extensions: Sometimes, browser extensions can interfere with the sign-in process. Try disabling any extensions that might affect your browser's functionality.

If you continue to face issues after trying these steps, it may be helpful to consult Microsoft support or check for any known issues with Outlook and Gmail integration.
