Why do marketing emails about Microsoft Copilot have no Unsubscribe methods?

I have never enabled or interacted with Microsoft Copilot, but I am getting marketing emails for it that say they're being sent because I used it. I am 100% certain I have not used Copilot once. I can't unsubscribe via Gmail and find no links to unsubscribe or manage notifications in the emails. I strongly believe these emails are likely illegal spam, since they are unsolicited, non-transactional, do not contain required information, etc. These are legitimate Microsoft emails. I am noticing more companies getting bolder with violating the CAN-SPAM Act. How can I stop these emails? This seems like it should be reported to the FTC potentially.

If you are receiving marketing emails about Microsoft Copilot without having interacted with it, and these emails do not provide an unsubscribe option, it could be a violation of the CAN-SPAM Act. This act requires that commercial emails include a clear and conspicuous way to opt-out of receiving future emails.

To stop these emails, you can take the following steps:

    1. Mark as Spam: Use your email provider's option to mark these emails as spam. This can help filter similar emails in the future.
    2. Report to Microsoft: You can report these emails to Microsoft directly. They may have a process for handling such complaints.
    3. Contact FTC: If you believe these emails are illegal, you can report them to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) as well.
    4. Email Filters: Set up filters in your email client to automatically delete or move these emails to a separate folder.

It's important to keep your email preferences updated and to be cautious about sharing your email address to minimize unsolicited communications.
