Hi, I was stupid and shared a Microsoft verification code to a Discord server yesterday, I can prove that I know a previous password to the account, and how I got scammed.

I also am currently still in Minecraft, where the scam started. Running Minecraft through Lunarclient.

My username in minecraft is [removed to protect privacy], however if I log out or close Minecraft, I think I'll be locked out of it for good.

I created another email and Microsoft account so I could message here.

I have already tried Microsoft's account recovery system, and they said they cannot assist me as the scammer has two step verification enabled.

I have been sent notifications from microsoft about changes the scammer made to the account,

they first added an email called: "ma#####@maous.site"(the # replaced with *),

and changed the password.

Then they added another called: "******@kinoud.site",

and changed the password, but this time it exposed some of their info:

Security info used: ******@kinoud.siteSecurity info used: @kinoud.siteCountry/region: VietnamPlatform: WindowsBrowser: ChromeIP address: 171.234.8.140And finally as of now, they added one called: "[@gmail.com]".

Then they deleted "******@kinoud.site".

The previous email associated with the Microsoft account was: ******@gmail.com

The attachment provided shows the activity on the Microsoft account through email notifications.

Can provide further information as requested.

If I could be redirected to the correct place to send this, that would be great.

Thank you for your time.

Hey there! Nice to meet you!

I'm sorry you are experiencing this.

The only way to recover a hacked Microsoft/Minecraft account is through the official Microsoft troubleshooter guide:

    https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/how-to-recover-a-hacked-or-compromised-microsoft-account-24ca907d-bcdf-a44b-4656-47f0cd89c245

But since the 2FA has been enabled by the hacker, the account recovery web form will no longer work. I'm afraid there is no other working method to recover the Microsoft account, and Microsoft Support cannot help either.

However, I would recommend reaching out to Minecraft Support regarding your Minecraft account if they can provide an alternative option:

    https://help.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/request/new?ticket_form_id=360001225811

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Best regards,

    Darhyl

If you've been scammed and locked out of your Microsoft account, the best course of action is to follow the official recovery procedures. Since the scammer has enabled two-step verification on your account, it complicates the recovery process. Here are some steps you can take:

    1. Use the Microsoft Account Recovery Form: Even if you've tried this before, ensure you provide as much information as possible about your account, including previous passwords, associated email addresses, and any purchase information. You can access the recovery form at Microsoft's account recovery page.
    2. Contact Microsoft Support: Since the automated recovery options may not work due to the changes made by the scammer, reaching out to Microsoft Support directly can be beneficial. You can explain your situation and provide them with the details you have, including the notifications about the changes made to your account.
    3. Minecraft Support: Since you mentioned that the scam started in Minecraft, you might also want to reach out to Minecraft Support. They might have additional options or advice for recovering your account or securing your game data.
    4. Monitor Your Email: Keep an eye on your email for any notifications from Microsoft regarding your account. If you receive any alerts about changes, act quickly to secure your account.
    5. Secure Your Other Accounts: If you shared your verification code, consider securing any other accounts that might be linked to the same email or phone number.

Unfortunately, if the recovery form does not work and Microsoft Support cannot assist, there may be limited options available. It's crucial to act quickly to prevent further unauthorized access to your account.
