share a user’s contacts is not available in the new Outlook

Dear Microsoft 365 Support Team / New Outlook Product Team,

The option to share a user's contacts is currently unavailable in the New Outlook for Windows, and this functionality is not listed on the Microsoft 365 Roadmap as of February 2026. In contrast, calendar sharing works seamlessly. Given that implementing this essential feature does not appear technically challenging, we question whether Microsoft intentionally prefers an alternative sharing method at a philosophical or design level.

Could you please confirm if we should simply await the addition of this option in a future update, or if it will never be enabled? If the latter, what official solution does Microsoft recommend for this basic yet critical requirement across all organizations?

P.S.: Executive secretaries manage executives' contacts but must not receive full mailbox access.

Based on your description, sharing a user’s personal contacts is unavailable in the new Outlook for Windows and is not listed on the Microsoft 365 Roadmap (February 2026), while calendar sharing works. You wonder whether this feature is planned for a future update or will never be supported.

As a forum moderator, I don't have the authority or function to confirm or guarantee upcoming feature updates for New Outlook.

However, unlike moderators, users have a direct voice and can influence product development by providing feedback to the Microsoft team through official channels.

Currently, I've also noticed much feedback with similar content as your question, particularly regarding the Contacts sharing feature in New Outlook, and this feedback are receiving community attention. Our product team is in charge of the site, and they constantly check customer reviews and feedback. The higher votes, the more attention the related team will pay on. And a lot of the features are developed and improved based on customer feedback.
