With specific websites, I have to ask permission to get into sites. I am over 18 and don't even know who these requests are being sent to. How can I change or fix this in my settings?

    Hello,

This issue almost always means your Microsoft account is currently enrolled in a Microsoft Family group as a child member, or your birth date on the account is set to a minor age. When you click Ask for Permission, the request is sent to the email address of the account listed as the Organizer in that family group.

Go to family.microsoft.com and sign in with your account. Look to see if there are other people listed there or if you are in a group. If you see an Organizer listed, that is who controls the restrictions.

Let me know what you see on that page so I can tell you how to leave the group or change the settings.

To resolve the issue of needing permission to access specific websites, it's essential to understand that these permissions are often managed by the website itself or by the network you are connected to, rather than by your personal settings in Windows. If you are encountering access requests, it could be due to restrictions set by the website or by your network administrator if you are using a managed network (like at school or work).

If you are using SharePoint Online or a similar service, you might need to enable access requests for the site collection. Here’s how you can do that:

    1. Navigate to the affected SharePoint Online site collection.
    2. Click the gear icon for the Settings menu, then select Site Settings.
    3. Under Users and Permissions, click on Site permissions.
    4. Select Access Request Settings.
    5. Check the box for Allow Access Requests and enter your email address for notifications.
    6. Click OK to save your changes.

If you are not on a managed network and still face issues, consider checking your browser settings or contacting your internet service provider for further assistance. Additionally, ensure that your browser is updated and that any privacy settings do not block access to certain sites.
