Having trouble with sign-in

Hi,

I'm not able to sign in to my account. I'm stuck in a local account. When I select "Sign in with Microsoft account instead" a window pops up for a split second and disappears. I've tried logging out and back in, restarting my computer, recovering, none of those worked. I've tried the advanced start up, but it did not fix the issue and now I can't open the start up menu, it gives me a critical error. If I try to sign through the settings, it says "You'll need an app to open this ms-cxh link"

    Hello,

It appears that the command prompt is not working properly as expected. Could you please check if you are experiencing the same problem on a new user profile?

Click Windows + R key, type netplwiz, and click ok.

Select Add > Sign in without a Microsoft account (Not recommended) > Local account.

Enter a temporary local username and password.

Once the account is created, select the local user profile > Properties. In the Group Membership tab, assign admin permissions.

Once done, sign out from your Microsoft account and sign in to new local admin user profile.

See if you can access command prompt and settings (Sign in options) page there.

If you are able to access them on new user profile, let me know.

Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

    Method 1.

Try running the System File Checker Utility scan:

Open the Command Prompt (Administrator) window. Run these commands one by one.

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

    sfc /scannow

Once completed, restart your computer and open Settings > Accounts > Your Info > Select Sign in with your Microsoft account.

    Method 2.

    Reset the Settings App.

Search for Settings in the search bar on the taskbar, right-click the results, and click App Settings.

    Scroll down and select Reset.

If resetting the app did not resolve the issue, open a PowerShell (Administrator) Window. Run the command below to re-register the Settings app.

    Get-AppxPackage *windows.immersivecontrolpanel* | Reset-AppxPackage

Once done, restart your computer and try signing in with your Microsoft account.

Let me know if you still need more help.
