I'm participating in the Windows Insider Preview, I updated to version 25H2. Build 26300.7733.ge_prerelease_im.260126-1312 was installed. My Windows version is genuine, and a message appears on the screen saying that my copy is a trial version. Did I lose my license? Why is it saying that my version is a trial version? Thank you very much! MTC

That message is indicating that you have preview version of next Windows version installed. That notification / running preview version doesn't change your license or activation status at all.

When participating in the Windows Insider Preview, especially with pre-release versions like 25H2, it's possible to encounter messages indicating that your version is a trial version. This can happen if the build you are using is not fully licensed for general use or if it is a test build that has specific licensing restrictions.

Since you mentioned that your Windows version is genuine, it’s important to ensure that you are correctly enrolled in the Windows Insider program and that your device meets all requirements for the version you are testing. Sometimes, trial messages may appear due to temporary issues or bugs in the pre-release software.

If the problem persists, consider checking your license status through the settings or using commands like slmgr /dlv in Command Prompt or PowerShell to get detailed licensing information. If necessary, you may need to re-activate your Windows or contact Microsoft support for further assistance regarding your license status.
