Hamid:

Hi team,

I am facing a persistent issue with Windows Update on my Windows 10 machine. Even though I try to keep my system updated, the Settings page displays the message: "You're missing important security and quality fixes."

When I ran the Windows Update Troubleshooter, it identified a problem with the BITS service but was unable to fix it. The error message in the troubleshooting report is:

"Problem with BITS service: The requested service has already been started. System.Management.Automation.RemoteException More help is available by typing NET HELPMSG 2182."

Details about my system:

Status: Enrolled in Extended Security Updates.

Symptoms: "Check for updates" button doesn't resolve the warning. BITS service seems to be in a conflict state.

Troubleshooting done: Ran the built-in Windows Update troubleshooter (Report attached).

I have attached screenshots of the Windows Update page and the Troubleshooting report for reference.

Could you please guide me on how to reset the BITS service and clear this update warning?

Thank you!
