Hi,

I wanted to create a business account with my domain. I was about to finish the billing process, but I didn't have enough funds on my debit card. After I added more funds to that card and tried to redo the steps It asks me to enter a verification code from the domain email that has been used for the previous attemp. The issue is that email doesn't exist and I have no way of accessing that code. I have tried to create another email, but my domain is now taken by the previous email.

What are my options in fixing this?

    Dear @Mile Novakovic,

Good day! Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum!

Based on your description, I understand that You tried to create a Microsoft 365 business account with a custom domain, but the initial billing failed due to insufficient funds. After retrying, you were asked for a verification code sent to a domain email that was never created, so you can’t access it. The domain now seems locked to that failed setup, and you’re looking for ways to complete the account setup.

I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by this issue.

In this case, the best next step is to contact the Microsoft Billing team via Phone Support. The reason is that issues like a failed initial purchase, a locked domain, or a verification email tied to an incomplete setup are handled only by the Billing team. It allows real‑time verification of the account and faster identification of which domain your account is associated with.

(Important Note: Sometimes, you may first hear a computer‑generated voice. Please wait for it to finish. If an agent is available, you will be connected to a live representative. Depending on your country or region, you may hear a brief introduction of about 30 seconds such as “You can visit the link…”. You can ignore this message and wait for the options, then press “1” as a business email user, and again “1” for technical help. During peak hours, there might be high call volumes, so we kindly ask for your patience as we work to assist everyone as quickly as possible.)

    The billing team can:

    • Review failed or partial billing attempts linked to your domain
    • Check whether the domain is temporarily locked from the initial setup
    • Reset or release the domain so you can complete the signup correctly
    • Investigate any pending or unfamiliar charges on your card

As forum moderators, we don’t have access to billing systems. For security and privacy reasons, those actions can only be performed by Microsoft’s official support teams.

When you contact phone support, it helps to mention that:

    • The business account setup failed during billing
    • The domain is now locked to an email address that was never created
    • You’re unable to receive the verification code needed to continue setup

As much as I’d like to assist you directly, only the Microsoft Billing Support team has the necessary access to get this resolved so you can move forward with your Microsoft 365 account.

Thank you for your kindness and understanding.
