How to make i2c hid device rework and stop turning off with "code 10"

My Lenovo Windows 11 (Yoga 7 14IRL) has a consistent issue with i2c hid device simply just stop working. It shows a yellow triangle in the corner and says "code 10: a request for the hid descriptor failed." This happens more when I sleep/wake/hibernate my laptop (I've set it to "do nothing" but it still happens), and this also happens when I shutdown my laptop and play games.

I've tried uninstalling and restarting, disabling and enabling, disabling and uninstalling then restarting etc...

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

I have no power management tab, and I have used Registry Editor to reshow it and turning off the "disable to save power" thing, the problem still occurs, and when it does, the power management tab disappears again.

I've tried to use the in built update driver as well as downloading Intel something something from Lenovo. My laptop is just a year old but this problem has occurred for months. My laptop is also a touchscreen if that helps.

    Hi iris,
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum. I'm happy to help.

That hardware ID belongs to ELAN input device. Please follow the suggestions bellow:

    • Turn off your laptop, hold the Power button for at least 10 seconds to re-initiate devices.
    • Download and install latest ELAN driver from official Lenovo support page.
    • If the driver from Lenovo does not help, please consider download and install driver from ELAN.

In case all above suggestions cannot help, you might have hardware problem. You may send your device to a service center for further assistance.

I hope that above information is helpful to you.
