If that is a Word file, open Word, select the File menu at the top of Word, on the resulting Recent list, are you able to find the location where that file may have been stored on your PC?

If you use OneDrive to sync your files to the cloud online, have you logged into OneDrive (https://onedrive.live.com/) in a web browser to check if the file is available to download from there.

To find a file that you created and saved on your computer, you can try the following methods:

    1. Check Recent Documents in Word: Open Microsoft Word and go to File > Open > Recent. This will show you a list of recently opened documents, and you might find your file there.
    2. Search for the File: You can use the Windows search feature. Click on the Start menu, type the name of the file (if you remember it), or use *.docx to search for all Word documents. This will help you locate the file if you don't remember its exact name.
    3. Look in the Recycle Bin: If you accidentally deleted the file, it might be in the Recycle Bin. Open the Recycle Bin and check if your file is there.
    4. Search for AutoRecover Files: If Word crashed or closed unexpectedly, you might be able to recover your document from AutoRecover. Open Word, go to File > Info > Manage Document > Recover Unsaved Documents.
    5. Check Temporary Files: Sometimes, temporary files can help recover lost documents. You can search for temporary files by typing *.tmp in the Windows search bar.
    6. Use Windows File Recovery Tool: If you are using Windows 10 version 2004 or later, you can try the Windows File Recovery tool to recover files that have been permanently deleted.

By following these steps, you should be able to locate your missing file.
