I am trying to get my linkedin premium, but when i try and get it, it says that my account isnt found. I tried reaching out to linkedin about it and they said to reach out to you. This is my school account. What do I need to do in order to get the free linkedin premium?

Thank you for any help you can provide.

    Hello Dehart, Matthew (dehartmw),

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum!

I understand that you are having issue with receiving LinkedIn Premium for free through your school account. I truly understand how you feel. Let me assist you go through this situation.

With your situation, you’re trying to redeem the free LinkedIn Premium Career that comes with the new Microsoft 365 Premium Higher Education Bundle. This offer gives students 12 months free of:

    • Microsoft 365 Premium
    • LinkedIn Premium Career

To receive LinkedIn Premium, Microsoft sends you a separate email with a one‑time‑use LinkedIn token 24–72 hours after your Microsoft 365 Premium order — but this can now take up to 7 days.

If LinkedIn says your account “isn’t found,” it almost always means your academic verification didn’t complete or the token email hasn’t been issued yet.

    Therefore, I suggest you:

    1. Make sure you used a right school email domain

It must be your official school-issued email (e.g., .edu, or institution-specific). Personal accounts like Outlook, Hotmail, Gmail, or Yahoo do not verify.

    2. Verification happens automatically — there’s no manual “verify me” button

When you redeem the offer on the Microsoft site, verification runs in the background. If you used a personal Microsoft account without linking your school email, eligibility will fail.

    3. The LinkedIn Premium activation email can take up to 7 days

    Please wait within 7days.

    4. Check ALL mail folders

    Microsoft specifically says to check:

    • Junk
    • Spam
    • Promotions
    • Other filters

    5. You must be a new LinkedIn Premium subscriber

If you currently have or recently had:

    • LinkedIn Premium Career
    • Business Premium
    • Sales Navigator
    • Recruiter Lite

…you cannot redeem the student offer.

6**. LinkedIn Premium won’t activate until Microsoft confirms your student eligibility**

Your Microsoft 365 Premium must show verification success (green check mark during sign-up).

I hope this will help with your situation. Please feel free to reach back if you have further update or more questions.

    Best Regards,
