Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Hello Jordan S, thanks for posting this in the community.
For monthly Microsoft 365 subscriptions, canceling typically stops future charges but allows the service to remain active until the end of the current billing period. Refund eligibility, however, can still apply when a subscription is canceled within the current billing or renewal window, depending on the region and timing.
In this case, since the next billing period has not started yet, the subscription still appears to be within the current cycle, and the remaining time of approximately one month is unused. Because the cancellation was required solely to accept a Microsoft 365 Family sharing invitation, there is no added value in maintaining two active subscriptions simultaneously.
You may request a prorated refund or billing adjustment for the unused portion of the canceled Microsoft 365 Personal subscription, or ask for the subscription end date to be aligned with the monthly billing cycle to avoid overlap. To proceed, sign in to https://account.microsoft.com/services and confirm that the subscription shows as Canceled with an active end date. If no refund option is presented automatically, please contact Microsoft Support and request a manual review for a prorated refund or billing adjustment.
Kind regards,
John Oli
