Dear Microsoft Billing and Tax Support Team,

I am writing to request a Certificate of Tax Residency for the year 2026 for the following Microsoft entity: [Moderator note: personal info removed]

The certificate is required by the Polish tax authorities to apply the provisions of the relevant Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement and to justify the application of reduced withholding tax rates (or exemption) on payments made to Microsoft.

A digital PDF copy of the certificate would be highly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Kind regards, [Moderator note: personal info removed]

    Hi @Marta Łyskanowska,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Thank you very much for reaching out regarding your request for a Certificate of Tax Residency (CTR) for the relevant Microsoft entity. I appreciate you taking the time to contact me and for clearly outlining the purpose of your request.

I understand that the certificate is required by the Polish tax authorities to support the application of the applicable Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement, as well as to justify the application of reduced or exempt withholding tax rates on payments made to Microsoft. This type of documentation is commonly requested for cross-border transactions and is essential for tax compliance.

In this case, I strongly recommend reaching out to your IT Admin department and asking them to open a support ticket with the Microsoft Billing Support Team through the Microsoft Admin Center, as they are the team with the appropriate authority and access to handle requests related to tax residency certificates.

Once reach out, a live support agent will contact you (or your IT team) and validate your 2026 Certificate of Tax Residency request, confirm the availability and format of the certificate (including a digital PDF), and advise on any additional documentation required by the tax authorities.
